Lección 16


   IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES

  1. Warm up by chatting with the class using previously learned vocabulary, phrases, and structures.
  2. Briefly go over the Lesson 16 objectives. To orient your students to the lesson theme, have them explain what's going on in the lesson opener photograph.
  3. Present the illustrated Contextos vocabulary. You should also point out to students the vocabulary contained in the Más vocabulario box and in the Las entrevistas box. In addition, you may want to point out and discuss the information contained in the Variación léxica box.
  4. Using the Student Cassette/CD, work through Práctica activity 1 with the class. Then have your class work through your choice of the remaining Práctica activities.
  5. Have your students work through your choice of the Comunicación activities.
  6. Preview the Fotonovela.

   ASSIGNMENT

  1. Have your students read the Fotonovela and familiarize themselves with the Expresiones útiles.
  2. Have your students prepare one or more of the Reacciona a la fotonovela activities so that you can go over them orally during the next class session.
  3. As an ongoing project, have your students read this lesson's Panorama section as they work through the lesson. Tell them that one class day before you administer the Prueba for this lesson, you will ask them the questions contained in the ¿Qué aprendiste? activity, as well as additional questions about the Panorama material.

   ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS

  1. Have your students do the Lesson 16 Contextos activities in the Workbook Activities section of the Student Activities Manual.
  2. Have your students do the Lesson 16 Contextos activities in the Laboratory Activities section of the Student Activities Manual.
  3. Have students work through the Lesson 16 Contextos section on the Interactive CD-ROM.


   IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES

  1. Warm up by chatting with the class using previously learned vocabulary, phrases, and structures.
  2. Through class discussion, go over the plot of this lesson's video episode. Then use the Video CD-ROM or the Videocassette to play the video episode. Finally, ask your students a few comprehension questions. You may also want to ask your students some questions using this lesson's Expresiones útiles: e.g., ¿Cuáles son tus planes para el futuro? ¿Qué piensas hacer después de graduarte?
  3. Go over the assigned Reacciona a la fotonovela activities. Have the class work through your choice of the remaining Reacciona a la fotonovela activities.
  4. At this point, you may want to preview and present the Ortografía page and work through your choice of the activities with the class.
  5. Preview Estructura 16.1.

   ASSIGNMENT

  1. Have your students study Estructura 16.1.
  2. Have your students prepare the Inténtalo activity and Práctica activity 1 so that you can go over them orally during the next class session.
  3. Remind your students to continue familiarizing themselves with this lesson's Panorama section.

   ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS

  1. Have your students view the Lesson 16 video module on the Video CD-ROM and do the corresponding activities in the Video Activities section of the Student Activities Manual.
  2. Have your students work through the Lesson 16 Fotonovela section on the Interactive CD-ROM.
