Lección 12


   IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES

  1. Warm up by chatting with the class using previously learned vocabulary, phrases, and structures.
  2. Briefly go over the Lesson 12 objectives. To orient your students to the lesson theme, have them explain what's going on in the lesson opener photograph.
  3. Present the illustrated Contextos vocabulary. You should also point out to students the vocabulary contained in the Más vocabulario box and in the Los quehaceres domésticos box. In addition, you may want to point out and discuss the information contained in the Variación léxica box.
  4. Using the Student Cassette/CD, work through Práctica activity 1 with the class.
  5. Have your students work through your choice of the remaining Práctica activities. Then have them work through your choice of the Comunicación activities.
  6. Preview the Fotonovela.

   ASSIGNMENT

  1. Have your students read the Fotonovela and familiarize themselves with the Expresiones útiles.
  2. Have your students prepare one or more of the Reacciona a la fotonovela activities so you can go over them orally during the next class session.
  3. As an ongoing project, have your students read this lesson's Panorama section as they work through the lesson. Tell them that they will turn in their written answers to the ¿Qué aprendiste? activity on test day.

   ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS

  1. Have your students do the Lesson 12 Contextos activities in the Workbook Activities section of the Student Activities Manual.
  2. Have your students do the Lesson 12 Contextos activities in the Laboratory Activities section of the Student Activities Manual.
  3. Have students work through the Lesson 12 Contextos section on the Interactive CD-ROM.


   IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES

  1. Warm up by chatting with the class using previously learned vocabulary, phrases, and structures.
  2. Play the first half of the Lesson 12 video episode using the Videocassette or the Video CD-ROM. Ask students to predict how the episode will end; write down their predictions. Then play the second half of the video episode and see how accurate your students' predictions were. Finally, ask a few comprehension questions about the video.
  3. Go over the assigned Reacciona a la fotonovela activities. Have the class work through your choice of the remaining Reacciona a la fotonovela activities.
  4. At this point, you may want to preview and present the Ortografía page and work through your choice of the activities with the class.
  5. Preview Estructura 12.1.

   ASSIGNMENT

  1. Have your students study Estructura 12.1.
  2. Have your students prepare the Inténtalo activity and Práctica activity 1 so that you can go over them orally during the next class session.
  3. Remind your students to continue reading this lesson's Panorama section and preparing their written answers to the ¿Qué aprendiste? activity.

   ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS

  1. Have your students view the Lesson 12 video module on the Video CD-ROM and do the corresponding activities in the Video Activities section of the Student Activities Manual.
  2. Have your students work through the Lesson 12 Fotonovela section on the Interactive CD-ROM.
