Adding VHL WebLinks to Your Course
- Upload the WebLinks Zip File
- Download and save the Zip file Panorama2e_WebLinks.zip to your computer.
- Log into WebCT and click into the course to which you would like to add the WebLinks.
- In the left-hand navigation menu, in the block labeled Designer Links, click on Manage Files.
- In the right-hand navigation menu, in the block labeled Options: Files, click on the Upload button.
- Click Browse... and navigate to the location of the Zip file Panorama2e_WebLinks.zip that you downloaded.
- Select this file, and click Open
- In the drop-down menu labeled Destination folder, choose My-Files (the default choice), then click Upload.
- WebCT will upload the file, and then return you to the Manage Files page.
- Click once in the checkbox next to Panorama2e_WebLinks.zip in the file list.
- In the right-hand navigation menu, in the block labeled Options: Files, click on the Unzip button.
- In the drop-down menu labeled Unzip Panorama2e_WebLinks.zip to:, choose My-Files (the default choice), then click Unzip.
- Create a Content Module to hold the VHL WebLinks
- In the left-hand navigation menu, in the block labeled Designer Links, click on Add Page or Tool.
- In the block labeled Course Content Tools, click on Content Module.
- In the field labeled Enter a title for this item:, type in a name for these WebLinks. e.g. Panorama WebLinks.
- Underneath Decide where to show the link to this item., you can choose On the Course Menu, On an Organizer Page, or both, depending on where you would like the link(s) to the VHL content to appear.
- Click the Add button.
- WebCT will create the new Content Module, then return you to your course homepage.
- Click on the link for the new Content Module that you created (either in the left-hand navigation menu or the main homepage menu).
- In the right-hand navigation menu, in the block labeled Options: Table of Contents, click on the Add files button.
- Select all of the files that begin with panorama2e_weblinks (you can select multiple files at once by holding down the Shift button while clicking the first and last files in the list).
- Click the Add button.
- WebCT will add the VHL WebLinks files to the Content Module, then return you to the Content Module Table of Contents.
- Add the CD-ROM Tool to your Course
High quality video files form part of the rich media content included with VHL products. You can enable the CD-ROM Tool in WebCT to allow your students to quickly access these video files from the CD-ROM drive of their computer, instead of downloading them over the Internet. The students will use the Video & Interactive CD-ROMs packaged free-of-charge with every new student textbook.
- In the left-hand navigation menu, in the block labeled Designer Links, click on Add Page or Tool.
- In the block labeled Course Content Tools, click on CD-ROM.
- In the field labeled Enter a title for this item:, type Select your CD-ROM drive.
- Underneath Decide where to show the link to this item., select On an Organizer Page.
- Click the Add button.
- WebCT will create the link to the CD-ROM tool, then return you to your course homepage.
- Click on the new item on your course home page labeled Select your CD-ROM drive.
- In the right-hand navigation menu, in the block labeled Options, click on the Create entry to CD-ROM button.
- In the field labeled CD-ROM title type Panorama CD-ROM.
- In the drop-down menu labeled CD-ROM course folder, select PanoramaCD.
- Click the Add button.
- Your students will now be able to play videos from the CD-ROM of their desktop computer instead of over the Internet.
