1. Warm up by chatting with the class using previously learned vocabulary, phrases, and structures.
2. Briefly go over the Lesson 8 objectives. To orient your students to the lesson theme, have them explain what's going on in the lesson opener photograph.
3. Present the Contextos vocabulary, using Transparencies 33 - 34. Point out and discuss the information contained in Variación léxica box and the ¡LENGUA VIVA! box.
4. Using the Student Cassette/CD, work through Práctica activity 1 with the class.
5. Go over your choice of the remaining Práctica activities with the class.
6. Have your students work through your choice of the Comunicación activities.
7. Preview the Fotonovela.

1. Have your students read the Fotonovela.
2. Have your students familiarize themselves with the Expresiones útiles and the Enfoque cultural.
3. Have your students prepare one or more of the Reacciona a la fotonovela activities so you can go over them orally during the next class session.

IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES

3. Play the video in class using the Video CD-ROM or VHS tape.
4. Ask a few comprehension questions and then go over the assigned Reacciona a la fotonovela activities. Have the class work through your choice of the remaining Reacciona a la fotonovela activities.
5. Preview and, using the Student Cassette/CD, present the Pronunciación page then work through your choice of the activities with your class.
6. Preview Estructura 8.1.

ASSIGNMENT

1. Have your students study Estructura 8.1.
2. Have your students prepare the Inténtalo activity and Práctica activity 1 so that you can go over them orally during the next class session.

ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
