IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Warm up the class by asking personal questions using the imperfect and preterite tenses. Incorporate adverbs into the questions.
  2. Have students work in groups of three to complete steps B, C, and D of A conversar (p. 104).
  3. Debrief A conversar by having the groups report their results to the whole class.
  4. Present the vocabulary list for the second reading, Perfil: Jorge Ramos (p. 113), modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
  5. Collect and correct students’ anecdotes for A escribir (p. 105).
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Read Antes de leer and study the Vocabulario for Perfil: Jorge Ramos (p. 113).
  2. Read Perfil: Jorge Ramos (pp. 114–115) and prepare the Después de leer activities (p. 116) for the next class.
  3. Continue preparing the Lecturas activities from the FACETAS web site to be submitted electronically before class on Day 9.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
  1. Read the Lectura section in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual and do the corresponding activities.
