IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Present the vocabulary list for Idilio
(p. 73), modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
- Discuss the Conexión
personal (p. 73) questions in Antes de leer with the class.
Encourage students to use the vocabulary just presented.
- Have students summarize the story after lines
5, 10, 15, and 24 (pp. 74–75).
- Direct students’ attention to Sobre
el autor (p. 74). Ask them how they think Benedetti’s life experience
is reflected in Idilio. Ask students to discuss what they think is the
moral lesson of the story (Análisis literario, p. 73) and
Benedetti’s purpose in writing the story (Estrategia de lectura, p.
73).
- Work through Después de leer
activities 1 and 2 for Idilio (p. 76) with the class.
- Put students in groups of three and have them
peer correct each other’s paragraphs for Después de leer
activity 4 for Idilio (p. 76). As a class, discuss television’s
effects on viewers and the implications of those effects.
- Put students in pairs and have them work
through Después de leer activity 3 for Idilio (p.
76).

- Prepare the Práctica and
