IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Present the profile on Carmen Lomas Garza and do the Conexión personal questions (p. 37) in Antes de leer with the class. Have students compare the party depicted in Lomas Garza’s painting (p. 37) with their own birthday parties. Encourage students to use the vocabulary for the selection.
  2. Work through Después de leer activities 1–3 (p. 40) for Perfil: Carmen Lomas Garza with the class.
  3. Have students work in pairs to prepare activity 4 (p. 40) for Perfil: Carmen Lomas Garza and then have the pairs present their interviews to the class.
  4. Present the Estrategia de comunicación (p. 41) in Atando cabos. Then have students work in groups on their presentations.
  5. Collect and correct the paragraphs students wrote for activity 5 (p. 40) for Perfil: Carmen Lomas Garza.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Prepare presentations for Atando cabos (p. 41) for the next class.
  2. Continue preparing the Lecturas activities from the FACETAS web site to be submitted electronically by the end of class on Day 9.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
  1. Prepare the Composición section in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual and do the corresponding activities.
  2. Take the Quiz on the FACETAS CD-ROM and review any problem areas.
