Day 4

IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Present the vocabulary list for Aqueronte (p. 31), modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
  2. Discuss the Conexión personal (p. 31) questions in Antes de leer for Aqueronte with the class. Encourage students to use the vocabulary just presented.
  3. As a class activity, summarize each paragraph of Aqueronte (pp. 32–35).
  4. Work through the Análisis literario activity (p. 31) in the Antes de leer section with the class.
  5. Work through Después de leer activities 1 and 2 for Aqueronte (p. 36) with the class. Have students work in pairs to complete activity 3.
  6. Have a few volunteers read aloud their paragraph for Después de leer activity 4 (p. 36) for Aqueronte. Collect and correct students’ paragraphs.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Study Estructura 1.3 (pp. 20–21) and Estructura 1.4 (pp. 24–25).
  2. Prepare the Práctica and Comunicación activities for Estructura 1.3
    (p. 22–23) and Estructura 1.4 (pp. 26–27) for oral work during the next class.
  3. Finish preparing the activities for Exploración from the FACETAS web site, to be submitted electronically before the end of the next class.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
  1. Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 1.3 and Estructura 1.4 in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual.
  2. Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 1.3 and Estructura 1.4 in the lab manual section of the Student Activities Manual in conjunction with the Lab Audio CD or MP3 Files Audio CD-ROM.
