IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
Have students present the dialogs they prepared for Comunicación activity 5A for Estructura 12.3.
Put students in groups of three to read and peer review each other’s newspaper articles about one of the events in Comunicación activity 7 for Estructura 12. 2.
Present the painting and quote on the Lecturas section opener. Present the vocabulary list for El prócer, modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
Have students discuss in small groups the Conexión personal questions in Antes de leer for El prócer. Encourage students to use the vocabulary just presented.
Complete the Contexto cultural exercise with the class. Provide additional information as needed and ask students to match the figures listed with U.S. counterparts.
Present Análisis literario and Estrategia de lectura. Follow the suggestion in the anno to expand the discussion of irony.
Collect and correct the articles students wrote for A escribir.
ASSIGNMENT
Study the Vocabulario for El prócer.
Read El prócer.
Prepare the Después de leer activities for El prócer for the next class.
Go to the ENFOQUES web site and prepare the Lecturasactivity to be submitted electronically before class on Day 11.
