IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Review Estructura 12.1 by asking students questions that incorporate entre, hasta, and sin.
  2. Work through the Práctica activities for Estructura 12.2 with the class. Students will work in pairs for activities 2, 3, and 4. Follow the suggestion in the anno in the IAE to expand activity 2 by having students make a timeline for themselves.
  3. Present Estructura 12.3.
  4. Read the Enfoques selection on the independence of Hispanoamerica with the class. Ask students what they know of the history of various Hispanic countries.
  5. Ask students the comprehension questions found in the Additional Teaching Suggestions of the Instructor Resource Manual for this Enfoques selection.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Study Estructura 12.3.
  2. Prepare the Práctica activities for Estructura 12.3 for oral work during the next class.
  3. Read the second Enfoques selection and be prepared to discuss the Coméntalo questions.
  4. Go to the ENFOQUES web site, prepare the corresponding activity for the second Enfoques selection, and submit it electronically before the next class.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
  1. Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 12.3 in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual.
  2. Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 12.3 in the lab manual section of the Student Activities Manual in conjunction with the Lab Audio CD or MP3 Files Audio CD-ROM.
  3. Do the corresponding Enfoques activity on the ENFOQUES CD-ROM.
