IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Direct students’ attention to Sobre el autor. Ask them how Samperio’s use of details helps illuminate his humor.
- Ask students about the symbolism of the event described in the story (Análisis literario). Are there any details or prior knowledge that they can use to draw conclusions (Estrategia de lectura)?
- Work through Después de leer activities 1 and 2 for Tiempo libre with the class. Put students in pairs for activity 3. Ask pairs to summarize their discussion for the class.
- Collect and correct the paragraphs students wrote for Después de leer activity 4 for Tiempo libre.
ASSIGNMENT
- Continue preparing the Lecturas activity from the ENFOQUES web site to be submitted electronically before class on Day 12.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
- Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, and 9.4 on the ENFOQUES CD-ROM.
