Day 3

IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Review Expresiones útiles by asking students questions using the expressions.
  2. Follow the anno to review verbs like gustar and how they function. Work through Ampliación activity 4 for Fotonovela with the class. Have students do activity 5 in pairs and activity 6 in small groups.
  3. Work through the Práctica activities for Estructura 9.1 with the class. Follow the anno in the IAE to extend activity 3.
  4. Present Estructura 9.2. Follow the suggestions in the IAE to review irregular past participles and verbs that convey uncertainty.
  5. Present Enfoques. Focus students’ attention on the lead-ins to each reading, elicit their knowledge of the topics, and have them describe the photographs.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Write a dialog based on the telenovela created for Ampliación activity 6 for Fotonovela. Be prepared to present the dialogs to the class.
  2. Study Estructura 9.2.
  3. Prepare the Práctica activities for Estructura 9.2 for oral work during the next class.
  4. Read the first Enfoques selection.
  5. Go to the ENFOQUES web site, prepare the corresponding activity for the first Enfoques selection, and submit it electronically before the next class.

  1. Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 9.2 in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual.
  2. Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 9.2 in the lab manual section of the Student Activities Manual in conjunction with the Lab Audio CD or MP3 Files Audio CD-ROM.
