Day 12

IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Ask students to tell you about Carmen Maura’s life and career.
  2. Work through Después de leer activities 1 and 2 for Perfil: Carmen Maura with the class. Put students in pairs for activity 3; have each pair share its ideas with the class. Put students in small groups for Después de leer activity 4 for Perfil: Carmen Maura. Students will use the information they found on the Franco dictatorship and the transition to democracy to complete the activity.
  3. Show the video El milagro again and ask for volunteers to read aloud the three wishes they would ask for (Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 7).
  4. Put students in pairs and have them work on Videoteca Después de ver el corto activities 8 and 9.
  5. Present the Estrategia de comunicación in Atando cabos. Then have students work in groups on their presentations.
  6. Collect and correct the sentences students wrote for Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 7.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Finalize Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 8. Be prepared to present the new endings to the class on Day 14.
  2. Complete the invitation, in writing, for Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 9, to be handed in on Day 14.
  3. Have groups prepare their Atando cabos presentations for the next class.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
  1. Review the Vocabulario for Lección 9 by having students create at least two sentences about each communications medium (television, radio, movies, and newspapers), using as many vocabulary items as possible in each sentence.
