IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Discuss with students Allende’s use of details that are fantastic, magical, and impossible. Ask students how these details make the story an example of magical realism (Análisis literario). Ask students how these details affected their reading of the story (Estrategia de lectura).
- Work through Después de leer activity 1 for Dos palabras with the class.
- Put students in pairs for Después de leer activities 2, 3, and 4 for Dos palabras.
ASSIGNMENT
- Write Después de leer activity 4 for Dos palabras.
- Read Antes de leer and study the Vocabulario for Perfil: Rubén Blades.
- Read Perfil: Rubén Blades and prepare the Después de leer activities for the next class.
- Continue preparing the Lecturas activity from the ENFOQUES web site to be submitted electronically before class on Day 11.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
- Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, and 8.4 on the ENFOQUES CD-ROM.
- Take the Quiz on the ENFOQUES CD-ROM and review any problem areas.
