IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Review Estructura 8.2 and put students in pairs to complete Comunicación activities 1 and 2. Follow the suggestions in the annos in the IAE to extend the activities.
  2. Work through Práctica y Comunicación activity 1 for Estructura 8.3 with the class. Have students do activity 2 in pairs. Follow the suggestions in the annos in the IAE to extend the activities.
  3. Present Estructura 8.4.
  4. Have students work in small groups and read the Enfoques selection La democracia y la monarquía en España together.
  5. Ask students the comprehension questions found in the Additional Teaching Suggestions of the Instructor Resource Manual for this Enfoques selection.
  6. Have students discuss the Coméntalo questions. Encourage them to expand on their answers using the knowledge gained from doing the ENFOQUES CD-ROM Enfoques activities.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Choose a public figure and write a description entitled Un día terrible using only constructions with se to express unexpected events. The class will attempt to guess who the public figure is from the description. (anno for Práctica activity 3 for Estructura 8.2)
  2. Study Estructura 8.4.
  3. Prepare the Práctica y Comunicación activities for Estructura 8.4 for oral work during the next class.
  4. Read through A conversar and prepare steps A & B for use in the next class. Do step B in writing.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
  1. Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 8.4 in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual.
  2. Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 8.4 in the lab manual section of the Student Activities Manual in conjunction with the Lab Audio CD or MP3 Files Audio CD-ROM.
