IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
Present the vocabulary list for Perfil: Rubén Blades, modeling the Spanish words and expressions. Have students discuss the Conexión personal questions in Antes de leer in pairs.Read Contexto cultural with the class. Follow the suggestion in the anno to ask students what they know about Panama. Work through the multiple choice items with the students.
Ask students to tell you about Rubén Blades. If possible, play some recordings by Blades.
Work through Después de leer activity 1 for Perfil: Rubén Blades with the class. Put students in pairs and have them do Después de leer activity 2 for Perfil: Rubén Blades. Extend the activity by using the suggestions in the anno in the IAE.
Present the Estrategia de comunicación in Atando cabos. Then have students work in groups on their presentations.
Announce the quiz on Lección 8 to be given during the next class and explain what material will be covered.
Collect and correct the speeches students wrote for Después de leer activity 4 for Dos palabras.
ASSIGNMENT
Study for the quiz on Lección 8.
Prepare presentations for Atando cabos for the next class.
Complete the Lecturasactivity from the ENFOQUES web site to be submitted electronically before the next class.
