IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
Have students work in small groups to prepare questions and answers about hypothetical situations in the present and future. Have the various groups interview each other using the questions they have prepared.
Present the painting and quote on the Lecturas section opener. Present the vocabulary list for El eclipse, modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
Have students discuss the Conexiónpersonal questions in Antes de leer in pairs. Encourage students to use the vocabulary just presented. Follow the suggestion in the anno in the IAE to have each pair prepare two statements on the influence of heavenly bodies in our lives.
Have students read the Contexto cultural.
Present Análisis literario and Estrategia de lectura.
Collect and correct the paragraphs students wrote for A escribir.
ASSIGNMENT
Study Vocabulario for El eclipse.
Read El eclipse.
Identify the aspects of the setting of El eclipse that are mentioned in Análisis literario.
Prepare the Después de leer activities for El eclipse for the next class. Do activity 4 in writing.
Go to the ENFOQUES web site and prepare the Lecturasactivity to be submitted electronically before class on Day 11.
