IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Present the profile on Catalina de Erauso and do the Conexión personal questions in Antes de leer with the class.
  2. Read Contexto cultural with the class. Describe the work and lives of the three nuns mentioned. Follow the suggestion in the anno in the IAE to have students discuss why women today become nuns and how and why those reasons differ from the reasons women had in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Ask students to tell you about Catalina de Erauso.
  3. Work through Después de leer activities 1 and 2 for Perfil: Catalina de Erauso with the class.
  4. Put students in pairs and have them prepare Después de leer activity 3 for Perfil: Catalina de Erauso. Remind students to think of the differences between Spain and the Americas at that time. Have students prepare Después de leer activity 4 for Perfil: Catalina de Erauso in pairs. Have each pair present its interview to the class.
  5. Present the Estrategia de comunicación in Atando cabos. Then have students work in groups on their presentations.
  6. Announce the quiz on Lección 4 to be given during the next class and explain what material will be covered.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Study for the quiz on Lección 4.
  2. Prepare presentations for Atando cabos for the next class.
  3. Complete the Lecturas activity from the ENFOQUES web site to be submitted electronically before the next class.

  1. Provide students with the Práctica exercises from the Additional Activities found in the Instructor’s Resource Manual.
  2. Review the exercises for Lección 4 that are on the ENFOQUES CD-ROM and in the Student Activities Manual.
