IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Have students work in small groups to prepare questions and answers about past events (from childhood, high school, last year, last week...). Remind students to use the preterite or imperfect tense, as appropriate. Encourage them to use adverbs and adverbial expressions. Have the various groups interview each other using the questions they have prepared.
- Present the painting and quote on the Lecturas section opener (p. 110). Present the vocabulary list (p. 111), modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
- Work through the Antes de leer section for Anónimo. Do the Conexión personal questions (p. 111) with the class. Have students read the Contexto cultural (p. 111). Present Análisis literario and Estrategia de lectura (p. 111).
- Read the first five paragraphs of Anónimo (pp. 112–115) with the class. Have students note the use of the imperfect and the preterite and decide why each is used.
- Collect and correct the anecdotes students wrote for A escribir (p. 109).
ASSIGNMENT
- Study Vocabulario for Anónimo (p. 111).
- Read Anónimo (pp. 112–115).
- Prepare Después de leer activities 1 and 2 for Anónimo (p. 116) for the next class.
- Go to the ENFOQUES web site and prepare the Lecturas activity to be submitted electronically before class on Day 12.
