IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Have students work in small groups to prepare questions and answers using the reflexive verbs and gustar and similar verbs presented in Estructura 2.3 (pp. 64–65) and Estructura 2.4 (pp. 68–69). Encourage them to use the present progressive and object pronouns. Have the various groups interview each other using the questions they have prepared.
  2. Present the painting and quote on the Lecturas section opener (p. 74). Present the vocabulary list (p. 75), modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
  3. Discuss the Conexión personal (p. 75) questions in Antes de leer for Idilio with the class. Encourage students to use the vocabulary just presented. Have students read the Contexto Cultural (p. 75).
  4. Present Análisis literario and Estrategia de lectura (p. 75).
  5. Collect and correct the emails students wrote for A escribir (p. 73).
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Study Vocabulario for Idilio (p. 75).
  2. Read Idilio (pp. 76–77).
  3. Decide on the moral lesson of the story (Análisis literario, p. 75).
  4. Prepare the Después de leer activities for Idilio (p. 78) for the next class. Do activity 4 in writing.
  5. Go to the ENFOQUES web site and prepare the Lecturas activity to be submitted electronically before class on Day 11.
