IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Ask students to tell you about Carmen Lomas Garza and her work.
  2. Work through Después de leer activities 1, 2 and 3 for Perfil: Carmen Lomas Garza (p. 40) with the class. Have students do Después de leer activity 4 (p. 40) in pairs.
  3. Show the video Momentos de estación again and have students complete Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 4 (p. 43) in groups of three.
  4. Present the Estrategia de comunicación (p. 41) in Atando cabos. Then have students work in groups on their presentations.
  5. Collect and correct the paragraphs students wrote for Después de leer activity 5 for Perfil: Carmen Lomas Garza (p. 40) and for Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 3 (p. 43).
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Prepare Videoteca Después de ver el corto activities 5 and 6 (p. 43) for Day 14.
  2. Have groups prepare their Atando cabos presentations (p. 41) for the next class.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
  1. Review the Vocabulario for Lección 1 (p. 44) by creating sentences, with each sentence using at least one of the verbs and one of the adjectives.
