IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Put students in pairs and have them work through Antes de ver el corto (p. 42).
  2. Show the video, with sound. Have students work in pairs to complete the Mientras ves el corto activity (p. 42).
  3. Show the video again and have students correct the Mientras ves el corto activity (p. 42).
  4. Present the vocabulary list for Perfil: Carmen Lomas Garza (p. 37), modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
  5. Do the Conexión personal questions for Perfil: Carmen Lomas Garza (p. 37) in Antes de leer with the class. Have students compare the party depicted in Lomas Garza’s painting (p. 37) with their own birthday parties. Encourage students to use the vocabulary just presented.
  6. Have students read and discuss the Contexto cultural (p. 37) in Antes de leer.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Complete the Lecturas activity from the ENFOQUES web site to be submitted electronically before the next class.
  2. Study Vocabulario for Perfil: Carmen Lomas Garza (p. 37).
  3. Read Perfil: Carmen Lomas Garza (pp. 38–39) and prepare the Después de leer activities (p. 40) for the next class. Do activity 5 in writing.
  4. Prepare Videoteca Después de ver el corto activities 3 and 4 (p. 43). Do activity 3 in writing.
