IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Review the quiz for Lección 11.
- Present the Contextos paragraphs, having various students read the paragraphs aloud and checking comprehension using the suggestions in the annotations in the Instructor’s Annotated Edition.
- Present the vocabulary list, modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
- Do the Práctica activities for Contextos with the class.
- Put students in pairs and have them work through the Comunicación activities for Contextos. Have each pair summarize their discussions for activities 4 and 5 for the class. For activity 6B, add a rebuttal section to the debate after both sides have presented their opinions.
- Preview Fotonovela and Expresiones útiles.
ASSIGNMENT
- Create a timeline based on the information in Práctica activity 1 for Contextos, as well as information from outside sources.
- Study the lesson vocabulary. Select 10 vocabulary words and create Spanish definitions for them.
- Read Fotonovela and watch the video episode on the ENFOQUES CD-ROM.
- Read the Enfoques section and answer the Coméntalo questions. Prepare the corresponding activities on the ENFOQUES web site, to be submitted electronically before class on Day 5.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
- Do the corresponding Contextos exercises in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual.
- Do the corresponding Contextos exercises in the lab manual section of the Student Activities Manual in conjunction with the Lab Audio CD or MP3 Files Audio CD-ROM.
- Do the corresponding Enfoques activity on the ENFOQUES CD-ROM.
- Do the corresponding video activities in the Student Activities Manual.
