IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Ask students to present the conversations they prepared for Práctica y Comunicación activity 3 for Estructura 10.3.
- Go over students’ work on steps A & B of A conversar.
- Put students in groups of three and complete A conversar.
- Debrief A conversar by having groups present their opinions to the class.
- Present the vocabulary list for the second reading, Perfil: Wifredo Lam , modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
- Collect and correct the stories students wrote for A escribir.
ASSIGNMENT
- Read Antes de leer and study the Vocabulario for Perfil: Wifredo Lam. Use the library or the Internet to prepare responses to the Conexión personal questions. Bring in examples of your favorite Hispanic artist’s work.
- Read Perfil: Wifredo Lam and prepare the Después de leer activities for the next class.
- Use the library or the Internet to learn about the Spanish Civil War and Batista’s regime in Cuba.
- Continue preparing the Lecturas activities from the ENFOQUES web site to be submitted electronically before class on Day 8.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
- Take the Quiz on the ENFOQUES CD-ROM and review any problem areas.
