IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Direct students’ attention to Sobre el autor. Ask students what elements of “fantastic realism” they see in Continuidad de los parques. Encourage them to discuss Cortázar’s use of imagery (Análisis literario).
  2. Work through Después de leer activities 1 and 2 for Continuidad de los parques with the class. Follow the anno in the IAE to ask students if the fantastic elements of the story are believable.
  3. Put students in pairs for Después de leer activity 3 for Continuidad de los parques. Have pairs summarize their discussion for the class.
  4. Ask for volunteers to read aloud the paragraphs they wrote for Después de leer activity 4 for Continuidad de los parques.
  5. Collect and correct the paragraphs students wrote for Después de leer activities 3 (item 2) and 4 for Continuidad de los parques.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Study Estructura 10.3 and Estructura 10.4.
  2. Prepare the Práctica y Comunicación activities for Estructura 10.3 and Estructura 10.4 for oral work during the next class.
  3. Complete the activities for Enfoques from the ENFOQUES web site, to be submitted electronically before the next class.
  4. Begin preparing the Lecturas activities from the ENFOQUES web site to be submitted electronically before class on Day 8.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
  1. Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 10.3 and Estructura 10.4 in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual.
  2. Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 10.3 and Estructura 10.4 in the lab manual section of the Student Activities Manual in conjunction with the Lab Audio CD or MP3 Files Audio CD-ROM.
  3. Prepare the Composición section in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual and do the corresponding activities.
