IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Review Expresiones útiles by asking students questions using the expressions.
- Work through the Práctica activities for Estructura 10.1 with the class. Students will work in pairs for activity 3. Follow the suggestions in the annos in the IAE to extend activities 1 and 3.
- Put students in pairs and have them complete the Comunicación activities for Estructura 10.1.
- Work through the Práctica y Comunicación activities for Estructura 10.2 with the class. Students will work in pairs for activity 3.
- Present the painting and quote on the Lecturas section opener. Ask students how the quote can be applied to the picture. Use the suggestions found in Additional Teaching Suggestions for Lecturas in the Instructor’s Resource Manual to direct/expand the discussion. Ask students how the quote and picture tie into the lesson theme, la literature y el arte.
- Present the vocabulary list for Continuidad de los parques, modeling the Spanish words and expressions. Discuss with the class the Conexión personal questions in Antes de leer for Continuidad de los parques. Encourage students to use the vocabulary just presented.
- Read the first paragraph of Continuidad de los parques with students. Make sure that students understand the setting and what is taking place.
ASSIGNMENT
- Read Antes de leer for Continuidad de los parques.
- Study the Vocabulario for Continuidad de los parques.
- Read Continuidad de los parques.
- Prepare the Después de leer activities for Continuidad de los parques for the next class. Do activity 3, item 2, and activity 4 in writing.
- Continue preparing the activities for Enfoques from the ENFOQUES web site, to be submitted electronically before class on Day 5.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
- Do the exercises for Estructura 10.1 and Estructura 10.2 on the ENFOQUES CD-ROM.
- Read the Lectura section in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual and do the corresponding activities.
