Lección 10: 2-Semester System
(8 days, including 1 for testing. Each class = 50 minutes.)

Day 1

IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Review the quiz for Lección 9.
  2. Present the Contextos paragraphs, having various students read the paragraphs aloud and checking comprehension using the suggestions in the annotations in the Instructor’s Annotated Edition.
  3. Present the vocabulary list, modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
  4. Do the Práctica activities for Contextos with the class. Students will work in pairs for activities 2, 3, and 4.
  5. Put students in pairs and have them complete the Comunicación activities for Contextos. If possible, bring in pictures of classical and abstract art and have students comment on what they consider to be the artistic value of each.
  6. Preview Fotonovela and Expresiones útiles.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Study the lesson vocabulary. Select 10 vocabulary words and create Spanish definitions for them.
  2. Do Comunicación activity 6 for Contextos in writing.
  3. Read Fotonovela and watch the video episode on the ENFOQUES CD-ROM.
  4. Read the Enfoques section and answer the Coméntalo questions. Prepare the corresponding activities on the ENFOQUES web site, to be submitted electronically before class on Day 5.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
  1. Do the corresponding Contextos exercises in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual.
  2. Do the corresponding Contextos exercises in the lab manual section of the Student Activities Manual in conjunction with the Lab Audio CD or MP3 Files Audio CD-ROM.
  3. Do the corresponding Enfoques activity on the ENFOQUES CD-ROM.
  4. Do the corresponding video activities in the Student Activities Manual.
