IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Warm up the class by asking personal questions using the imperfect and preterite tenses. Incorporate adverbs into the questions.
- Have students work in groups of three to complete steps B, C, and D of A conversar (p. 109).
- Debrief A conversar by having the groups report their results to the whole class.
- Present the vocabulary list for the second reading, Perfil: Jorge Ramos (p. 117), modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
- Collect and correct students’ anecdotes for A escribir (p. 109).
ASSIGNMENT
- Read Antes de leer and study the Vocabulario for Perfil: Jorge Ramos (p. 117).
- Read Perfil: Jorge Ramos (pp. 118–119) and prepare the Después de leer activities (p. 120) for the next class.
- Continue preparing the Lecturas activities from the ENFOQUES web site to be submitted electronically before class on Day 9.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
- Read the Lectura section in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual and do the corresponding activities.
