IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Review Expresiones útiles (p. 91) by asking students questions using the expressions.
- Work through Práctica activity 1 for Estructura 3.1 (p. 98) with the class. Have students do Práctica activity 2 (p. 98) in pairs. Complete Práctica activity 3 (p. 98) as a class activity.
- Have students do the Comunicación activities for Estructura 3.1 (p. 99) in pairs and in groups of three.
- Put students in pairs and have them complete the Práctica y Comunicación activities for Estructura 3.2 (p. 101). For activity 3, follow the suggestion in the annotation in the Instructor’s Annotated Edition for board work and questions focusing on the imperfect and preterite.
- Present the painting and quote on the Lecturas section opener (p. 110). Ask students how the quote can be applied to the picture. Use the suggestions found in Additional Teaching Suggestions for Lecturas in the Instructor’s Resource Manual to direct/expand the discussion. Ask students how the quote and picture tie into the lesson theme, La vida diaria.
ASSIGNMENT
- Read Antes de leer for Anónimo (p. 111).
- Study the Vocabulario for Anónimo (p. 111).
- Read Anónimo (pp. 112–115).
- Prepare the Después de leer activities for Anónimo (p. 116) for the next class.
- Continue preparing the activities for Enfoques from the ENFOQUES web site, to be submitted electronically before class on Day 5.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
- Do the exercises for Estructura 3.1 and Estructura 3.2 on the ENFOQUES CD-ROM.
