ACTIVITIES
1. Present the Communicative
Goals for Lección 14. Use the lesson opener photo to orient
students to the topic of city life as suggested in PREVIEW in the IAE.
2. Introduce
the Preparación section by using pictures of items such as meat,
shoes and bread and having students identify them. As students answer, write the
corresponding stores on the board as described in SUGGESTION in the
IAE.
3. Present the vocabulary using
the Overhead Transparency and the illustrations and lists in the student text,
modeling correct pronunciation for student
repetition.
4.
Have students list ten items from different
kinds of stores. Ask them to switch lists with
a partner and tell where to get each item, as
suggested in EXPANSION in the IAE.
5. Go over the VARIACIÓN
LÉXICA in the IAE in preparation for the A escuchar
activities.
6. Have students do
A escuchar activities 1 and 2 in conjunction with the Textbook Audio
CD.
7. Have students do A
practicar activity 3 in pairs and ask questions such as ¿Qué
más podemos comprar en una carnicería? as suggested in
EXPANSION in the
IAE.
ASSIGNMENT
1.
Have students complete activities 4 and 5 from A practicar.
2. Have students prepare A
conversar activity 6 for the next
class.

1. Have students complete the
exercises for Lesson 14 Preparación in the Workbook section of the
