ACTIVITIES
1. Present the Communicative
Goals for Lección 13. Use the lesson opener photo to orient
students to the topic of nature and the environment as suggested in PREVIEW in the IAE.
2. Introduce the
Preparación section by putting the words la naturaleza and
la conservación on the board and asking students to guess their
meanings as described in SUGGESTION in the
IAE.
3. Present the vocabulary using
the Overhead Transparency and the illustrations and lists in the student text,
modeling correct pronunciation for student
repetition.
4. Ask a student to
represent a vocabulary word on the board and have the class guess the word and
spell it as suggested in EXPANSION in the
IAE.
5. Go over the VARIACIÓN
LÉXICA in the IAE.
6. Have
students do A escuchar activities 1 and 2 in conjunction with the
Textbook Audio CD.
7. Have students do
A practicar activity 4 and write five more original sentences with
different verb tenses as suggested in EXPANSION in the
IAE.
8. If there is time, have students
do activity 5 in pairs and ask them to prepare the definitions for five
additional words as suggested in EXPANSION in the
IAE.
ASSIGNMENT
1.
Have students complete activity 3 from A practicar.
2. Have students prepare the
conversation for A conversar activity 8 for the next
class.

OPTIONS
1. Have students complete the
exercises for Lesson 13 Preparación in the Workbook section of the
Workbook/Video Manual.
2. Have students
do the exercises for Lesson 13 Preparación in the Lab Manual in
conjunction with the Lab Audio CDs or MP3 Files Audio
CD-ROM.
3. Have students work through
the Preparación section for Lesson 13 on the Interactive
CD-ROM.
