Day 1

IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
1. Present the Communicative Goals for Lección 11. Use the lesson opener photo to orient students to the topic of technology as suggested in PREVIEW in the IAE.
2. Introduce the Preparación section by having students list six electronic items they use and having them circulate around the room to ask fellow students if they also use those items as described in EXPANSION in the IAE.
3. Present the vocabulary using the Overhead Transparency and the illustrations and lists in the student text, modeling correct pronunciation for student repetition.
4. Draw a picture of a car on the board that includes identifiable parts from the vocabulary. Make cards with the Spanish names for the parts and have students place the cards on the relevant car parts as suggested in SUGGESTION in the IAE.
5. Go over the VARIACIÓN LÉXICA in the IAE.
6. Have students do A escuchar activities 1 and 2 in conjunction with the Textbook Audio CD.
7. Have students do A practicar activity 4 in pairs asking volunteers to talk about problems they have had with computers and technology as suggested in EXPANSION in the IAE.
8. If there is time, play “Concentration” with vocabulary words and pictures as described in TEACHING OPTION in the IAE.

ASSIGNMENT
1. Have students complete activity 3 from A practicar.
2. Have students prepare A conversar activity 6 for the next class.

ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
1. Have students complete the exercises for Lesson 11 Preparación in the Workbook section of the Workbook/Video Manual.
2. Have students do the exercises for Lesson 11 Preparación in the Lab Manual in conjunction with the Lab Audio CDs or MP3 Files Audio CD-ROM.
3. Have students work through the Preparación section for Lesson 11 on the Interactive CD-ROM.
