Day 4

IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Review Estructura 5.1 and work through the Comunicación activities for Estructura 5.1 with the class. Students will work in pairs for activity 4.
  2. Work through the Práctica activities for Estructura 5.2 with the class.
  3. Present Estructura 5.3. Follow the anno in the IAE to point out that, unlike in English, the present progressive is not used after adverbs such as antes and después.
  4. Read the Exploración selection on chocolate with the class. Ask students what they knew of chocolate. Are there any “new” foods that have become popular during their lifetimes?
  5. Ask students the comprehension questions found in the Additional Teaching Suggestions of the Instructor Resource Manual for this Exploración selection.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Study Estructura 5.3.
  2. Prepare the Práctica activities for Estructura 5.3 for oral work during the next class.
  3. Read the second Exploración selection and be prepared to discuss the Coméntalo questions.
  4. Go to the VENTANAS web site, prepare the corresponding activity for the second Exploración selection, and submit it electronically before the next class.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
  1. Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 5.3 in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual.
  2. Do the corresponding exercises for Estructura 5.3 in the lab manual section of the Student Activities Manual in conjunction with the Lab Audio CD or MP3 Files Audio CD-ROM.
  3. Do the corresponding Exploración activity on the VENTANAS CD-ROM.
