IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Warm up the class by asking personal questions that review Estructura 1.3 (pp. 22–23).
  2. Put students in pairs and have them do the Comunicación activities for Estructura 1.3 (p. 25).
  3. Work through the Práctica activities for Estructura 1.4 with the class (p. 28).
  4. Present A conversar (p. 30). Ask students whether they read advice columns and what type of problems people write about in these columns.
  5. Put students in groups of four and have them work through steps A & B of A conversar (p. 30). They will use their written work as the basis for their discussions.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Imagine a meeting of all four personalities depicted in Comunicación exercise 3 for Estructura 1.4 (p. 29). Write a paragraph describing the meeting, using the verbs presented in the Estructura for Lección 1.
  2. Review A conversar (p. 30) and be prepared to complete step C in class.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS
  1. Read the Lectura section in the workbook section of the Student Activities Manual and do the corresponding activities.
