- Introduce yourself,
present the course syllabus, and explain the course
objectives.
- Present the Contextos
paragraphs (pp. 2–3), having various students
read the paragraphs aloud and checking comprehension
using the suggestions in the annotations in the
Instructor’s Annotated Edition.
- Present the vocabulary
list (p. 3), modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
- Do the Práctica
activities for Contextos (p. 4) with
the class. Have students provide sentences with
the words defined in exercise 1.
- Preview Fotonovela
and Expresiones útiles (pp.
6–7).
ASSIGNMENT
- Study the lesson
vocabulary (pp. 2–3). Select 10 vocabulary
words and create Spanish definitions for them.
- Read Fotonovela
(pp. 6–7) and watch the video episode on the
VENTANAS CD-ROM.
- Prepare the Comprensión
activities for Fotonovela (p. 8) for oral
work during the next class.
