IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
Ask students whether they think gene research
played a role in the development of Lorena X301. Was the use of the research
positive or negative?
Work through Después de leer
activities 1 and 2 for Pioneros en busca de un gen with the class. Put
students in pairs to discuss activity 3; have each pair present its conclusions
to the class. Follow the suggestions in the annos in the IAE to expand the
discussion.
Ask for volunteers to read aloud their
paragraphs on cloning, which they wrote for Después de leer
activity 4 for Pioneros en busca de un gen.
Show the video Lluvia again. Ask
students whether they think that the emotions portrayed in the video will be the
same in 100 or 200 years. Do humans’ basic emotions and needs change along
with scientific advances?
Collect and correct the paragraphs students
wrote for Después de leer activity 4 for Pioneros en busca de
un gen.
ASSIGNMENT
Finalize the dialogs for VideotecaDespués de ver el corto activity 6. Be prepared to present them to
the class.
Continue preparing the Culturaactivity from the VENTANAS web site to be submitted electronically
before class on Day 12.
