- Ask students to tell you about Jeff
Bezos’s life and career.

pairs for activity 3; have each pair share its ideas with the class.
- Put students in small groups for
Después de leer activity 4 for Perfil: Jeff Bezos. Follow
the anno in the IAE to ask students to determine what will be the main motivator
for their business. Ask each group to share their business idea with the
class.
- Begin the Antes de leer section for
Pioneros en busca de un gen. Present the vocabulary list, modeling the
Spanish words and expressions, and have students discuss the Conexión
personal questions in small groups.
- As a class, discuss how the distribution of
economic resources affects the quality of life and the role of scientific
research in this issue (see the anno in
IAE).
ASSIGNMENT
- Study the Vocabulario for Pioneros

- Read Contexto cultural and Pioneros
en busca de un gen.
- Prepare the Después de leer
activities for Pioneros en busca de un gen for the next class. Do
activity 4 in writing.
- Continue working on the dialogs for
Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 6. Be prepared
to present them to the class on Day 10.
- Continue preparing the Cultura
activity from the VENTANAS web site to be submitted electronically
before class on Day 12.
