Have students work in groups on
Tertulia steps 1 and 2.
Have groups present their ideas to the class
(step 3). Then discuss the different opinions presented (step 4).
Discuss with the class the theme for
Lección 12, La historia y la civilización. Ask
students what they think the connection is between history and civilization.
What determines whether a civilization is “advanced”? Is there such
a thing as an objective telling of
history?
ASSIGNMENT
Examine the picture and read the quote on the
Literatura section opener for Lección 12. Write a paragraph
discussing your feelings about/opinions on either the quote or the
painting.
