IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Warm up the class by asking students about
the similarities and differences in the use of images by Valladares and
Cortázar.
- Put students in pairs to discuss Atando
cabos step1. Have each pair present their opinions to the class.
- Present Atando cabos step 2. Have
students follow the Plan de redacción to write their story. Follow
the annos in the IAE to help students find topics and to emphasize the
importance of a title.
- Ask for volunteers to read aloud their
stories to the class. Ask students whether each story is realistic, fantastic,
or some
combination.
ASSIGNMENT
- Revise the story written for Atando
cabos step 2.
- Examine the painting and quote on the
Cultura section opener. Write a short paragraph interpreting
either the picture or the quote.
- Read Conexión personal in
Antes de leer for Perfil: Wifredo Lam. Use the library or the
Internet to prepare responses to the questions. Bring in examples of your
favorite Hispanic artist’s
work.
