IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Ask
for volunteers to read aloud their paragraphs discussing
the view of literature and art presented in either
the quote or the painting on the Literatura
section opener for Lección 10. Use
the suggestions found in Additional Teaching Suggestions
for Lecturas in the Instructor’s Resource
Manual to direct/expand the discussion. Ask students
how the quote and picture tie into the lesson theme,
La literatura y el arte.
- Present the vocabulary list, modeling the
Spanish words and expressions.
- Have students discuss the
Conexión personal questions in Antes de leer in
pairs. Encourage students to use the vocabulary just presented. Follow the
suggestion in the anno in the IAE to write on the board the things mentioned and
to write a general statement about what human beings cannot do without.
- Have students read the Contexto
cultural.
- Present Análisis literario and
Estrategia de
lectura.
ASSIGNMENT
- Study the Vocabulario for La mejor
tinta.
- Read La mejor tinta.
- List examples of repetition, alliteration,
onomatopoeia, internal rhyme, and imagery. Refer to Análisis literario
and Estrategia de lectura.
- Prepare Después de leer
activities 1, 2, and 3 for La mejor tinta for the next class.
- Go to the VENTANAS web site and
prepare the Literatura activity to be submitted electronically
before class on Day 6.
