IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Present the painting and quote on the Cultura section opener. Use the suggestions found in Additional Teaching Suggestions for Lecturas in the Instructor’s Resource Manual.
  2. Present the vocabulary list for Perfil: Carmen Maura, modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
  3. Put students in pairs and have them discuss Conexión personal.
  4. Show the video El milagro again and have students discuss Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 6 in pairs. Ask each pair to summarize their answers.
  5. Ask for volunteers to read aloud the three wishes they would ask for (Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 7).
  6. Collect and correct the reviews students wrote for Atando cabos step 3 and the sentences students wrote for Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 7.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Study the Vocabulario for Perfil: Carmen Maura.
  2. Read Contexto cultural and Perfil: Carmen Maura.
  3. Search on the Internet or use the library for information on the Franco dictatorship in Spain and the transition to democracy. This information will be used during the next class.
  4. Prepare the Después de leer activities for Perfil: Carmen Maura for the next class.
  5. Go to the VENTANAS web site and prepare the Cultura activity to be submitted electronically before class on Day 12.
