IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Present the vocabulary list for La nostalgia de Dios, modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
  2. Discuss the Conexión personal questions in Antes de leer for La nostalgia de Dios with the class.
  3. Have students read Contexto cultural. Ask them whether this Holy Week celebration parallels anything in their experience.
  4. Begin reading La nostalgia de Dios aloud with the class. After each paragraph, have students summarize the main idea. Ask students to note the sensory elements that are alluded to in the description of the ceremony.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Read La nostalgia de Dios. Write a short paragraph explaining the meaning of the last paragraph.
  2. Prepare the Después de leer activities for La nostalgia de Dios for the next class. Do activity 4 in writing.
  3. Continue preparing the Cultura activity from the VENTANAS web site to be submitted electronically before class on Day 12.
