Have students work in groups on
Tertulia steps 1 and 2.
Have groups present their ideas to the class
(step 3). Then discuss the different opinions presented (step 4).
Discuss with the class the theme for
Lección 9, La cultura popular y los medios de
comunicación. Ask students to name various types of
communication media. What role does popular culture play in each medium? Should
the medium create popular culture or should the medium define the
culture?
ASSIGNMENT
Examine the picture and read the quote on the
Literatura section opener for Lección 9. Write a paragraph
explaining your feelings about/opinions on either the quote or the painting.
