Day 4

IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Warm up the class by asking question using the vocabulary presented on p. 157 for El avaro, p. 161 for La prodigiosa tarde de Baltazar, and p. 184 for Correo celestial.
  2. Work through Después de leer activities 1 and 2 for La prodigiosa tarde de Baltazar with the class. Follow the anno in the IAE to ask students about Baltazar’s attitudes and the circumstances in his life that led him to become who he is.
  3. Work through Después de leer activity 3 for La prodigiosa tarde de Baltazar with the class. Ask students about the symbolism of the cage (Análisis literario). Ask them to evaluate the story on the aspects mentioned in Estrategia de lectura.
  4. Put students in pairs and give them ten minutes to begin work on Después de leer activity 4 for La prodigiosa tarde de Baltazar.
  5. Have students complete Antes de ver el corto in pairs.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Finish Después de leer activity 4 for La prodigiosa tarde de Baltazar and be prepared to present the dialogs to the class.
  2. Read Atando cabos and prepare step 1.
  3. Continue preparing the Literatura activity from the VENTANAS web site to be submitted electronically before class on Day 6.
