IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Present the vocabulary list for El futuro
de la Amazonia, modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
- Put students in pairs for Conexión
personal. Have each pair share their results and use the board to record the
class’s actions to protect the environment.
- Use a map to show students the extent of the
Amazon Basin and the six countries that either border the river or have
tributary rivers that flow into the Amazon.
- Begin reading El futuro de la Amazonia
aloud with the class. After each paragraph, have students summarize the main
idea. Does Santander’s description of the importance of the Amazon Basin
relate in any way to the descriptions of the ideal future world that students
wrote for Atando
cabos?
