IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
Present the painting and quote on the
Cultura section opener.Use the suggestions found in Additional
Teaching Suggestions for Lecturas in the Instructor’s Resource
Manual. Ask students to read aloud their paragraphs about either the picture or
the quote and its concept of nature.
Present the vocabulary list, modeling the
Spanish words and expressions.
Present the profile on Mauricio Purto and do
the Conexión personal questions in Antes de leer with the
class.
Read Contexto cultural with the class.
Ask students if they practice any high-risk sports. What do they see as the
attraction of such sports? What type of people are drawn to high-risk
sports?
Have students read aloud the first two
paragraphs of Perfil: Mauricio Purto. Ask them to describe Mauricio
Purto’s character.
Collect and correct the descriptions of the
ideal future world that students wrote for Atando cabos step
2.

Read Perfil: Mauricio Purto and
prepare the Después de leer activities for the next
class.
Go to the VENTANAS web site and
prepare the Culturaactivity to be submitted electronically before
