IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Ask for volunteers to read aloud their
paragraphs explaining how the quote on the Literatura section opener for
Lección 6 can be applied to the picture. Ask students to tell you
about Wifredo Lam. Use the suggestions found in Additional Teaching Suggestions
for Lecturas in the Instructor’s Resource Manual to direct/expand
the discussion. Ask students how the quote and picture tie into the lesson
theme, La naturaleza.
- Present the vocabulary list, modeling the
Spanish words and expressions.
- Have students fill in the chart for
Conexión personal in Antes de leer. Follow the
suggestion in the anno in the IAE to have the class guess each other’s
“pleasant place.” Encourage students to use the vocabulary just
presented. Have students read the Contexto cultural.
- Present Análisis literario and
Estrategia de
lectura.
ASSIGNMENT
- Study the Vocabulario for El viaje
definitivo.
- Read El viaje definitivo.
- Identify the assonant rhymes in the poem
(Análisis literario).
- Prepare Después de leer
activities 1, 2, and 3 for El viaje definitivo for the next
class.
- Go to the VENTANAS web site and
prepare the Literatura activity to be submitted electronically
before class on Day 6.
