IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Direct students’ attention to Sobre
el autor. Ask them how El viaje illustrates the quality of intensity
that Cristina Fernández Cubas mentions.
- Work through Después de leer
activities 1 and 2 for El viaje with the class.
- Have students summarize the story in one
sentence, as suggested in the anno in the IAE (p. 80).
- Ask students to discuss the narrator’s
purpose in recording this anecdote (Análisis literario). What
inferences did they make as they read the story and thought about the purpose
(Estrategia de lectura)?
- Follow the anno in the IAE (p. 80) to have
students write a paragraph describing the nun’s emotions when she saw the
convent from outside. Ask students to read their paragraphs aloud,
dramatically.
ASSIGNMENT
- Prepare Después de leer
activities 3 and 4 for El viaje for the next class. Write a paragraph for
activity 4.
- Continue preparing the Literatura
activity from the VENTANAS web site to be submitted electronically
before class on Day 6.
