IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Ask students about the use of irony and humor
in De salsas, siestas y otros bonitos tópicos (pp.
68–69).
- Work through Después de leer
activities 1 and 2 for De salsas, siestas y otros bonitos tópicos
(p. 70) with the class.
- Have students do Después de
leer activities 3 and 4 (p. 70) in groups of three. Have each group rewrite
the article, substituting a stereotype about North Americans for each stereotype
about Hispanics. Each group then presents its rewritten article to the
class.
ASSIGNMENT
- Prepare Videoteca Después de
ver el corto activity 7 (p. 73) for the next class.
- Continue preparing the Cultura
activity from the VENTANAS web site to be submitted electronically
before class on Day 12.
