IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Warm up the class by asking questions using the vocabulary presented on p. 29 and p. 33.
  2. Discuss the Conexión personal questions for Microcosmos III (p. 33) with the class.
  3. As suggested in the anno (IAE, p. 33), have students make lists of different types of social events and describe how participants in these events behave. Be sure that students discuss sporting events.
  4. Have students read aloud the first two paragraphs of Microcosmos III (p. 34). Then have students identify the elements of humor and the details that appear in these two paragraphs. (Refer to Análisis literario and Estrategia de lectura, p. 33.)
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Read Microcosmos III (pp. 34–35).
  2. Continue identifying the elements of humor and the details that appear in Microcosmos III. (Refer to Análisis literario and Estrategia de lectura, p. 33.)
  3. Prepare Después de leer activities 1 and 2 for Microcosmos III (p. 36) for the next class.
  4. Continue preparing the Literatura activity from the VENTANAS web site to be submitted electronically before class on Day 6.
